 VB and Crystal Report

Hello:

I am trying to made a Report with CR and in the CR designer I define
the report,
but I don't know how to pass variable values from VB to CR control.

We need to report all records that the date is a parameter given by
the final
user in a special form.

                                        thanks in advance

These things come back to bite you (OK - I mean me!!).

Crystal Reports ActiveX has an interesting way of handling a
change in the RecordSource.  It insists on reparsing the SQL
with all the " (quotation marks) for each field etc.,

What you'd need to do is to rebuild the SQL statement in the
same format as the initial SQL using the old reliable
Chr$(34) for the quotation mark passing the variable in the
regular way.

I found that this was the only way of changing the
RecordSource of CrystalReports ActiveX - dyanmically !!. (On
one project I spent two weeks debugging all the reports I
built just for that alone; that's why I started with the
wisecrack at the top !).

Hope this helps

Sol.
