Execute parameterized query stored in ACCESS-2 DB thru VBA

How can I execute a parameterized query stored in an ACCESS-2 database thru
VBA code in EXCEL-5 ?

It workes fine with a stored query using
SQLExecQuery(1, "SELECT * FROM queryname").

According to the ACCESS ODBC driver helpfile the syntax should be
"CALL queryname (parameter1, parameter2)" when using a query with parameters,
but it just does not work.
