Delphi can access DBase, but I would use the Paradox drivers.
Perforamance is sometimes faster, sometimes slower.

All in all it evens out.

It's difficult to compare, Delphi is still 16bit, VB4.0 32bit. But the
difference between a VB and Delphi database application is feelable
and visible to the user. VB is slow (or Delphi is fast? :-), but then
remember that VB is not a true compiler so it is not a fair to compare
these functions.

Personally I rather use dBase IV tables with the BDE and Delphi for
local solutions. The access MDB format isn't so reliable, is my
opinion/experience.

Bye,
        Scott.
