I've been working on a very big client/server system i Visual Basic 4.0
for 1 1/2 year now. We have been using True DBGrid throughout the
project. I'm fairly happy with it and very happy with the support from
Apex. However, I've been looking at ProtoView's DataTable. It looks
really nice and as I'm starting a new 1/2 year project I would like to
know if anybody has any long term experience with the DataTable OCX
control (or any other grid OCX control for that matter).

But sheridan Grid is slow, even if the table is big and when you have to do
calculated columns and such unbound things. VB is slow enough and that is
why we try to make it without datagrids and large databases.
