OpenRecordSet crashing when SQL-server has been down

**** Post for FREE via your newsreader at post.usenet.com ****

Hello,

I've the problem that the OpenRecordSet command starts trying to
connect again when the SQL-server is down and crashes later on (still
trying to connect), even when the SQL-server is back on.

I want to have this action under software controle in some way, so
that I can code the reconnecting procedure myself.

Is this possible ?

Greetings,

        with thanks,

                Geert
