 MSComm & Carrier detect

Using MSComm in vb4 (win3.1) is there any way to see if you are
connected without using CDholding.

As the carrier detect can be switched on and off at will (when not
connected). How can you tell if you really are(or are not) connected

thank you

I check PortOpen and CDHolding and CTSHolding to ensure that I am still
connected. Seems to work well so far.
