 Visual SourceSafe & VB4 Under Win 3.1

I am experiencing real problems when using Visual SourceSafe with VB4
under Windows 3.1.

SourceSafe is running on a server but with a client component
installed on 3 PCs each used by a different developer. Each PC
exhibits the same erroneous behaviour in that the message "Too many
file handles open" appears almost every time an attempt is made to
read from or to the SourceSafe database.

Has anybody else experienced this problem and if so could they suggest
a solution as my faith in the product is beginning to erode at a
remarkable rate.

Thanks in advance,

I have no experience with SourceSafe but, something to check out is your
server setup.  The error you are seeing may be originating there - it may
be the server's file handles that are being exceeded.
