   I have the 'Visual Basic Superbible Second Edition' from The Waite
Group.  It has helped me out a lot in figuring things out that were
beyond my knowledge.  ISBN# 1-878739-50-6.  It was $44.95.  Also, make
you you sift through the online VB help.  There's lots of examples and
some pretty good explanations in there also.

I need a complete but concise book on visual basic 4 and database (client/
server) programming.  I'd consider myself a decent programmer, used basic,
xbase, some c before.  Any good recommendations that describe and explain
thouroughly but without babying the reader.  Thanks.

That book only covers VB 3.0, and I agree that it is good.  But
is a version available that covers VB 4?

There is another book from Waite Group - DATABASE HOW TO for Visual
Basic4. I thought that's a wonderful book which is totally focussed on
various problems and challenges of database applications in VB.

excelent book. I think there's coming a new book on VB 4.0.

Hi Chungh,

I'm also looking for a VB4.0 database book.  What I've heard as the
definitve book is the "Database Developers Guide To Visual Basic 3.0" by
Roger Jennings.  I have also email SAMS publishing asking about the 4.0
revision.  They said that would be out in march.  Happy hunting.

I have this book at work.  I don't find it to be of much use.  Plus the
man spends too much time w/Sheridan products.  I have VB, not Sheridan.  
I don't care how Sheridan works.
