It's nice to see there's a language where they still know how to use the
subjunctive. m.

Est-ce qu'on ne dit pas "courier electronique"? ;-)

Best regards from Germany,

Commonly used in French, if you don't you're buggy and needed to be updated

Then you'll like German even better. And languages like Turkish which have
a different structure altogether will probably make you drip saliva.
And no, I'm not forgetting Latin, Greek and Sanskrit, only I think that
they shouldn't count because they're dead languages.

On the other hand, oversimplification of the language system as in Chinese
can result in problems as well.

And in English there is no subjunctive any more. At least not in British
English. In American English this obsolete part of grammar has re-emerged
in an attempt to give the language a feeling of grandeur - which is of
course totally misplaced.

You have obviously never visited my Web site (if you do, look at the top
left corner of the main page). m.

Well, I did but that was a long time ago. You certainly didn't have that
pretty eagle then. I like the motto: the best language is a dead language.
Could one derive from this motto the conclusion that silence is golden?
