It will be some serious work for a pure DOS app to do that, but it is
not "impossible". The best (and by far the easiest) solution has
already been suggested... PowerBASIC's PB/CC compiler.
So, if you do use PB/CC (which provides native TCP & UDP statements),
you can SHELL directly to the PB/CC app from your DOS app (or directly
from the command-line. All you need is Windows 95 or better to be
running.
