I wrote some QuickBasic Pure Code Resources a long time ago that let you
open the serial ports. They are on sumex I think. Its been so long they
probably dumped them already.

Serial (COM) Ports In Macintosh QuickBASIC 1.0
Hello,

In Macintosh QuickBASIC 1.0, the Modem port can be opened for input and
output using the

OPEN "COM1:baud$,parity$, databits, stopbits" AS #1 LEN=x

command (and others).  What I need to know is this:

 * Can the Printer port be opened to send and receive data like the Modem port?

 * Can other ports (such as virtual ports made by LineShare or extra
serial ports on NuBus boards) be opened?

I would greatly appreciate it if someone who knows the answer to this
could e-mail me with the necessary command(s).

Thanks!!

Do you still have the CODE resources on any old floppies or hard drives or
anything?  I could really use the code!!

Thanks!!  (I'll check Info-Mac though.)
