 What is CA Realizer?

Is anyone familiar with CA Realizer?  Is it a BASIC dialect?  If so, is it
compatible with QBasic?
I'm a teacher, and I want to purchase a compiler (for the school) that is
capable of compiling QBasic code.  I know that QuickBasic and VB for Dos will
do the trick since I own them myself, but before I spend the school's money,
I'd like to get info on other options.  Besides, I'd like to know what other
packages offer.
    Thanks for your help!

Yes, it is basic and accepts QBasic code. It, however, runs under
windows. Compiled code is either for windows or os2. The price is right.

Thomas,

Paul forgot to mention that CA-Realizer also runs under OS/2, and is
a semi-compiled type code.  In the IDE, the code is run as interpreted,
and once you have finalized your code your can make an executable file
out of it, however to use the executable you need the runtime library.

This can be a small drawback, especially if you plan to distribute
the final program as the runtime library is considerably large.
