Comm ports and running Quickbasic programs under windows or NT

I'm trying to get an application that I wrote long ago in Quickbasic
(Actually it's the superset, Microsoft Professional Basic Version 7) to run
under Windows 95 or NT.  Actually, it'll run but it can't see some extended
COM ports (Com3 thru Com11) that are located on a Digi serial card.
Running the program under DOS, we've got a driver for the digi card that
fools Basic into seeing all the extra com ports and they work fine.   Under
'95 or NT, (and I prefer NT), basic doesn't see the additional com ports.
I'd like to correspond with someone on this if anyone has experience running
these old compile basic programs under windows or NT.

Thanks,
Chuck McCullough
