 QB Comm help needed

ok...
    this is to anyone....
 i am making this chat door, it's pretty cool so far, but i have to use
this built in chat thatz a piece of crap. my old plan was to open the com port
and get chrz. from the input buffer /w on com(1) sosub, then printing it on the screen.
this will work... i know. but the problem is the user is already conneced
and opening the com port hangz up on them. if i don't open the comport i can't
use 'input #7, temp$' where #7, would be com2.

is there a lib i can use or a special command?

joe.

please i need help.

When you open the com port in QB, QB toggles the DTR line to the
modem.  With most modem default settings, this causes the modem to
drop the call.  You could use the DTR override command for your modem;
it may help.  The command  AT&D0 works on my USR Sportster 14,000.
