So reminiscent to my first experiences with GWBasic as they called it.
Been 17 years ago when I tried out all the Programs that came with my
new Computer. One of them was GWBasic when I ran it I did not know
anything about it and trying to exit caused the same experience you had.
I believe the first 3 times I had to reboot the Computer to get out.
Still curiosity got the better of me and I bought a good tutorial book on
it.
I learned to type SYSTEM to exit and loot's of other need things to do with
Basic, I was hooked.
I have learned a few other programming languages since, most much more
capable and faster then basic, still I enjoy programming in basic.
The best learning tool for beginning programmers, and the
fastest way to put an Idea to work.
Good Luck
