Volunteer to convert my BASICA/GWBASIC into ascii

Anyone out there got BASICA/GWBASIC running ? I can't seem to find a
DOS earlier than 5.0 anywhere!  I need a poor volunteer who could read
2 old binary files and send them back to me in ascii.  It would be
greatly appreciated.  _And_, if you are ever in Las Vegas, I promise
to buy you a great big beer (or two).

Let me know if you can help.  Most humbly,
(the idiot who did not keep his old DOS disks (what would I boot them
on ?))

I got my files converted !  Thanks to the 8 people who responded.  You
guys (gals) are great!  In case you all were curious...I actually had
two problems.  1) The files I had were binary, 2) the binary files
were corrupted.  Once someone told me they couldn't read them in I
went to some old (read that: very darn old) backups and pulled the
files back up.  Then they converted fine.

Again, thanks to everyone in the community.  And to those that
responded: The offer still stands, come to Vegas the first beer or two
is on me....

Hi...
I still happen to have BASIC and BASICA from DOS ver 1.1,2.1,3.2 and
also GWBASIC. I am a collector....
To run BASIC or BASICA I may have to rejuvenate one of my old 8088
systems but if you want me to try to convert some of your oldies, let me
know and I'll give you an address to send them to

George, John

I read your letters about GWBasic assistance today.  I have kept this
running for special programs until lately.  For curiosity I started my
GWBASIC with a filedate of 01.03.87 (ddmmyy) on my Win 95 system (Dell
Pentium 166).  It seemed to run fine, I was able to read an old file
written in bimary format in 1985 - most likely from BASICA.  The program
did load and run - I did not really test it, but there seems to still be
compatibility.  I have been running GWBASIC with some statistics programs,
probably last time on my 486/66 with DOS 6.2.  No problem!  BASICA however
is not that compatible any more.
