You forgot the </p>.  Not strictly necessary for HTML 4.x, I
guess, but definately for xhtml.

According to the w3c, </p> is strictly optional.

For xhtml as well?  How is that possible?  As I understand it, xhtml
is html written in XML, and XML requires that all tags be closed, and
that would include <p> and </p>.  The following W3C document seems to
back me up: http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/#diffs.

Now, for straight-up HTML 4, you'd be correct, because earlier versions
of HTML were based on SGML, which allowed one to omit end tags under
certain circumstances.  But I already said that in my first note.
