RATIONALE: comp.os.tpf

Currently there exists no newsgroup dedicated to the discussion of the art
of programming and technical aspects of IBM's Transaction Processing
Facility Family of Operating Systems, TPF and MVS/TPF.
This OS is about 30 years old and is IBM's Real-time Transaction Processing
OS for Airlines and Banks. A possible alternative for dissemination of
information is the usage of the asm370 forums but this newsgroup gets
clogged with non-TPF related issues and due to the nature of TPF, it is not
only associated with BAL 370 code anymore. This OS is used by the largest
banks and airlines and it would be of tremendous value to have a forum
dedicated to its users, programmers and architects. Current sites of TPF or
MVS/TPF are American Airlines, VISA, Master Card, Chicago Board of Options
Exchange, NYPD, Walgreens, TAP, ElAl, Holliday Inn, amongst others.

CHARTER: comp.os.tpf

A forum for discussing all problems and topics related to the
Transaction Processing Facility Operating Systems by IBM. Topics such
as programming in Assembler/370 for TPF, as well as C-TPF programming, C++,
Java, architecture, and interoperability are welcome. Provision for topics
and postings for Job Offers follow the guidelines widely accepted by the
Usenet. Topics unrelated to TPF or MVS/TPF,such as large binaries, unrelated
pictures and offensive material are unacceptable under all circumstances.

END CHARTER.
