 Availability of "N3" instructions

The z/Architecture POPS has a list of new instructions marked with the
"N3" attribute, which indicates that they are NEW but have been added
to ESA/390 as well.

How do you determine if/when they are available under ESA/390?

 Availability of "N3" instructions
You look in the S/390 POPs.  My interpretation of "N3" is that "these are new
instructions in z/Architecture but they also work in S/390 mode on such
machines.  IOW, the POPs for an architecture applies only to that architecture.

Ref. Chapter 7, with my highlights:

The instructions  that  are  *new* in  z/Architecture  are
indicated  in  Figure 7-1  by  N.  A  few  of  the
instructions  that  are  *new*  in  z/Architecture  have
also  been  added  to  ESA/390,  and  these  are  indicated
by N3.
