Sending EMAIL from scripts without logging in

I'm writing a script that will send emails after specific events.  I
have played with the Outlook.Application object after realizing that
there was no way to specify username, domain, and password.  One
alternative to this is to have Outlook running before script execution
but that is a poor solution.

I have found some programs like Blat that send SMTP mail with relative
setup ease but they do not have the security of immutable interfaces
and such.  Does anyone have any suggestions about how I can go about
my problem?

Thanks in Advance
