Packaging and Deployment Wizard
Paul:
Yes, the Office Developer's Toolkit (ODTK) will package and deploy IE5 with
an Access run-time deployment (the thought being that everyone will want to
use ADP's which need a min version of IE5.0!). The service release for the
ODTK allows you to choose if you want to deploy IE5 with the run-time
version or no; if you don't want to wait for the media, you can download the
32MB patch, er, added functionality, from MS's site. The upside is that it
trimmed my install packages from approx 150MB to 70-ish. I believe that if
you deploy with IE5 it does essentially upgrade earlier versions of IE on
the client's desktop, but am honestly not completely sure.
As far as documentation goes, I found the MS documentation that shipped with
the ODTK to be pretty helpful.
