 Error message: Error accessing file

I have an Access database that has been working fine for
years. However while working on it I accidentally deleted
a form. Rather than rebuild the form I simply imported one
from a previous copy of the database that is about a month
old. Ever since I imported that form, every time I try to
compile the database or go to a VBA code window from a
form event I get an error message. The message
says: "Error accessing file. Network connection may have
been lost." The blue title bar for the error message
says: "Microsoft Visual Basic".

I am working on a stand-alone computer not on a network. I
have compacted and repaired, rebooted, reinstalled Access
2000, tried copying all of the objects into a blank
database. Nothing works. The error message has a help
button on it that brings up blank window (wonderful eh?).
I don't feel like redoing a couple week's worth of work.
Any clue as to what has caused this error and how I can
restore my database? I would love some help on this one.

Thanks a ton if you can help!

This is likely due to a known issue described in the following KB article:

ACC2000:Error Message: Error Accessing File. Network Connection May Have
Been Lost (Q304548)
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=304548

The corruption in your mdb cannot be repaired. You will need to use a recent
backup of the mdb. You may be able to import uncorrupted objects from the
damaged mdb into a new mdb and then import the corrupted objects from the
recent backup.

To *prevent* further corruption you should obtain the Office2000 Service
Pack. This issue has been resolved with this SP.  For more information on
SP3 check out the following KB articles:

ACC2000: Issues Fixed in Access 2000 by Office 2000 Service Pack 3

OFF2000: Overview of Office 2000 Service Pack 3
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;326585

*** Note ***   Until you install SP3 you should be sure to compile your
project after you import or copy/paste code into any mdb *before* you close
the mdb. This will also prevent further corruption.
