How save a Master document?

 How save a Master document?

How can I save a Master Document (option View, and later Master Document)
totally finished.?
I just want to save it as a normal document, in order that the Subdocuments
doesn't change for ever.
Can you write me a macro for Word 97 to do this.
Every week a team write a magazine in a Master document which has all the
articles, and for the following week the magazin has oder informacion  (same
subdocuments but different information). Every articule is in a subdocument.
If  I save the Marster and change de subdocuments, the copy of this Master
change as well, and I don't want that. I want a copy of the Master document
of the news of each issue of the magazine. A copy which doesn't  change. Do
you know what I mean?

Can you write me a macro for Word 97 to do this.

Thanks

 How save a Master document?
Hello Jose,

I can't write such a macro and would not if I could because doing anything
to enable your use of Master Documents would be doing you a disservice.
"Master Document" is a term of art in Word referring to a "feature" that not
only doesn't work but also destroys documents. The consensus among those
offering advice on these newsgroups is that using the Master Document
feature is a sure way to destroy your document. It can destroy parts of your
document that you are not even working on! I think John McGhie said it
succinctly when he said that there are two kinds of Master Documents: Those
that are corrupt and those that will be corrupt soon. See <URL:
http://www.addbalance.com/word/masterdocuments.htm> for information on the
Master Document feature and workarounds. See <URL:

information on what goes wrong, and <URL:

how to salvage what you can.

Hope this helps.
