Number Search and Heading Style Search Questions

I have a Word document that has numerous chapters where the numbers were
automatically generated by Word and each is associated with a heading style
(i.e., HEADING 1, HEADING 2, etc.).  I need to search for a user specified
chapter number and then select all the text between that heading and the
next heading, i.e., chapter number, whose level would be unknown.

Using VBA, how do I search for a chapter number, for example, 3.1.6 (which
would be associated with the HEADING 3 style) or 6.3.5.2.1 (which would be
associated with the HEADING 5 style)? And, how can I search the document for
any heading style without explicitly specifying the heading level?  For
example, for a heading style such as HEADING 4, but without specifying the 4
since the next heading in my document could be a different level.

Thanks in advance.
