DAO garbage cleanup taking a LONG time...

Hello All-

I have some code that creates a new blank database and then copies
the schema from another database into it using DAO. It's working fine
(and fast) until the very end when we attempt to free up the two
dao.database variables we're using. Between the two of them they take
7-8 minutes to close! This happens whether I use ".close" or "set db =
nothing" or just let Access clean up automatically.

  What's going on? Any ideas?

This is Access XP SP-1... DAO 3.6 & Jet 4.0 (Service Pack 6).

Thanks,
-Tom

Hi,

Do you have "Name AutoCorrect" feature turned on? If so, please turn it off.

It's hard to determine the cause of the problem, but try to run ".close"
"set db=nothing" in earlier stage, and see if the problem perisists. This
will help determine which code section causes the problem.

Thanks,
Jun Chen
