naive question re decompile

 naive question re decompile

I've recently followed advice in this group and decompiled my code.
(This cleared up some problems I was having)  Now, I understand that
'decompile' is an undocumented command.  Why?  Does this imply pitfalls
in using it?  What would be MS's rationale for not documenting this (or
any other) feature?
