Finding the value of the field used as prmary key

Hi,

I am writing a procedure that ia back a form. The form relates to two tables
with a many-to-one relationship with a kode used as primary key on the "one"
side and forgien key on the other.
The form is suppost to be used in a situation where the post on the many
side should be changes so it will refers to different post on the one side.
(a person has changed address, addresses on one side, persons on many side).
I have manged to mmake the program find the correct primary key value, but
it comes up with a message "to change this field, you must save the record
first". (or somethin like that) But I cannot save the record without
recieving the same message, and it simply doesn't get saved.

I am working with Access 97.

Any brainstorms that could be useful?

Thank you,
David
