How to share database without server

Is it possible to share a database between two computers without a server?  If
so, please explain as much as you can.  Thanks.

Hi,

In addition, if you only need an access to the tables themselves, you can
easily LINK to them (Files | Get External Data | Link .... ). Modifying data
in the link table is also modifying the value in the original table. With
that consideration, you can decide to split your database intro a back-end
_be) database, with mainly only the data, and a front end database (mainly
with the programs and forms), so that you only have to distribute the
program part (and back up only the data part, whence the program is stable).
An add-in does the "splitting" for you very easily. Note that a linked table
cannot DIRECTLY be seeked  and must be opend with dbOpenDynaset option.

About server, note that Access is based on a FILE server "system", each PC
"solves" the SQL formulation locally. Since the necessary data must be
present on the PC, that may create a lot of traffic on the network ( two
users is rarely a problem, therefore).

One option, if you are using Access 97, is to use replication.
