Access 2000 VBA Handbook vis a vis Access 97 VBA Handbook
I have Ken Getz Access 97 VBA Handbook. I realize that the Access 2000 version is two volumes. Do I need to also get the Access 2000 VBA Handbook? I'm running Access 2000 in Windows 2000 and, if needed, Access 97 in Windows 98. -- Please post your response to the newsgroup. http://www.*-*-*.com/ ; Word macros, including converting from WordBasic to VBA; Technical writing and reviewing; Standards ------------------------------------------------

They are excellent references. You don't *have* to get them. You may want to see if they wrote one for 2002. Might as well get caught up! -- Joe Access MVP Check out Dev Ashish's web site for answers to common questions http://www.mvps.org/access/

Keng Getz has stated there is new code in the books which also works quite nicely in A97. IIRC especially in classes but I sure could be wrong. Howard, As Joe rightly said, you don't 'have' to get them, but I would suggest, if you are likely to start using (or currently do use) SQL back ends, then the Second book is a must for you. It's not just a re-write, it's one of the most valuable reference books I own (then again, I own a lot of Ken's books, and I have some 30+ various reference books for my job, ranging from, VB thru Access thru SQL thru HTML/XML). -- Tony & Diann

I have the Access 97 book and both volumes of the Access 2000 book, and I would certainly consider them worth every penny and then some. Assuming that there will be an Access 2002 book (I haven't heard, but would be very surprised if there wasn't) I'll have no hesitation about buying that too - even if it goes to three volumes! :-) -- Brendan Reynolds

Agreed. I'll buy the A2002 books sight unseen especially if it's three or more volumes. 8:}} Tony ---- Tony Toews, Microsoft Access MVP Please respond only in the newsgroups so that others can read the entire thread of messages. There are a number of authors whose books I would buy sight unseen. Ken Getz is one of them. Dan Appleman is another. -- Please post your response to the newsgroup. http://www.standards.com/ipusers/standards; Word macros, including converting from WordBasic to VBA; Technical writing and reviewing; Standards ------------------------------------------------

Agreed. I think I'd add Rebecca Riordan to that list as well as Any Baron.
