 Faxing...Email...from within Access

These are both Access 2000 questions.

First: I need to set up two separate modules whereby I can fax either an
inside-Access report or an outside (.txt) file. The fax number is from a
customer table. Is there a good example of doing this? I have found the
reference at MS utilizing Outlook for objects (reports or tables, though I
keep getting MAPI queue errors with this approach), but how do you send an
external file name, and is there an alternative to Outlook (most machines
only have Outlook Express)?

Second: Similar to the first, I need to sometimes send over email an object
(such as a report), which works with Outlook or Outlook Express, but I have
not found a way to send an attachment that is an outside file name (the file
name and email are from a table, but the file is resident elsewhere). How
can I do this?

Have you checked out this article for faxes?

For emailing a report, a good alternative probably is to use the Snapshot
format.

I have looked at the MS artcile and used it as a guide. It works fine for
objects found within the database, i.e. Reports, but it provides no way of
simply saying fax file such-n-such from disk. Also, in order for this
approach to work, you must have installed MS Outlook. I am hoping for
something that is direct to MAPI and less cumbersome and less error prone
(profiles, services, etc., are sometimes a real pain to keep working for
common users).

One approach I have done here is to simply print to, or call up other fax
software as if printing to it. Of course I cannot then pass a phone number
in and automate the process as is needed. Has anyone ran across fax software
that works well from inside Access?

As for the email - again the big problem with email is I need to almost
always include an attachment that is NOT an Access object. So as far as I
can tell, SendObject won't do it. Am I missing somthing there?

No, you're not missing anything, I don't think.  I think you are probably
best off using a third party control. Check out
