 How do you change the appearing name of a control?

How do you change the appearing name - not the one referred to in the
condes - of a control?

I'm lost.

The 'appearing name'??

Do you mean the caption (like the writing on a button)?  
The tooltip (the yellow 'hint' that sometimes comes up on mouseover)?
