I've manged to write code that sends the current record to microsoft word97,
but now I need a way to set the defualt printer to "win fax" & then set the
phone number to that of the fax number on the current record and then fax
it, all in one automated go..
if this can be done could someone tell me how

KB article Q145787 shows how to use the sendobject method to send faxes
through Microsoft Fax,  The method is to use the To parameter of the
sendobject method to specify the fax number.

You need to use the DDE interface to communicate with WinFax.  It's fairly
well documented in the WinFax on-line help.  Email me if you need more
