Fonts change with cut and paste

We have a user in our office who cuts or copies Times New Roman text and
pastes it in a Times New Roman document, but it always pastes using the
Courier font.  Any idea why or how to change it?

Thanks.

Hi,

My guess is, that although the texts have the same font, they don't have
the same style.
Word gives priority to style over font. The recieving document has a
style with the same name as the original (for instance Standard), but
with font Courier attached in stead of Times.
So, courier is what you get!

Might your user have a different printer as default? I sometimes get your
reported effect when I have left the "Generic text Only" printer assigned as
the default.
