Hmmm. I may have trouble remembering any exact details,
but...
1) I think it's in the Tools menu, where you can customize
the Menus. In that dialog box, there's a button RESET. does
using that have any effect?
2) Word 6.0 has a file winword.opt, or winword6.opt. Look
for that on the machine and rename it. When you start Word
up, if it can't find this file, it will generate a new one,
with the default installation settings. Toolbar settings are
controlled here, so that might do the trick.
You might also try renaming Normal.dot before starting Word
backup, if nothing else so far has helped.
