i'm importing spreadsheets (using docmd.transferspreadsheet) from excel 97
into an access 97 db, and i get the following error :

microsoft access was unable to append all the data to the table.  the
contents of fields in 0 records were deleted and 0 records were lost due to
key violations

i've noticed that part of the problem is cells in the excel spreadsheet that
contain lots of trailing spaces, but i've fixed those, and now some sheets
int the workbook work fine, but others are still doing it.  any ideas?
