ADO Help doesn't appear (Access 2000, Windows 2000)
I can't get any of the ADO help to work. For example, if I press F1 on an ADO keyword (and there is no help on the subject in the Access 2000 help file), I get a help box with nothing in it. I have tried checking both MS ADO 2.1 and 2.5 checked in tools, references. I haven't been able to find any ADO help file either (it's not under C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\ado, where the rest of the ADO files are). I've done system repair, and also add features help files, but nothing changes. (Repost to add groups and correct message.)

Nope, you have to download the ADO 2.1 help files and stuff from http://msdn.microsoft.com ... -- B.J. Priess Application Developer Publisher's Clearing House Port Washington, NY 11050

Actually the ADO help files are located in the MDAC SDK which can be downloaded from: http://www.microsoft.com/data/download2.htm To get the complete 2.1 SDK, you must install the following: - Microsoft Data Access SDK 2.0 Stand Alone 37.8 MB - Microsoft Data Access SDK 2.1 Update 5.6 MB and you will need the following installed also - MDAC 2.1.1.3711.11 (GA) Typical Install 6.2 MB -- Thanks, Carl Prothman, MVP, CCP http://www.able-consulting.com

But since the Help file is on the OFfice 2000 CD (ado*.chm), why the heck won't Office install it?

Also, another concern is that it will mess up newer ADO files and entries, since Windows 2000 beta 3 includes a form of ADO 2.5.
