 "Capture" Tab Position

I want to "capture" the position of the first tab stop.  I have
unsuccessfully tried:
    First Tab = Selection.Paragraphs.TabStops(1)
    First Tab = selection.paragraphs.item(1).tabstops
    First Tab = Selection.Paragraphs.TabStops

What code should I be using?

TIA
