 Error after Zip/gzip Access 97 .mdb's

Greetings-

The problem I've been having is now reproducible, so I'm posting to see
if others have similar problems.  I'm working under Access 97, Windows
NT 4.0 (SP3), on a variety of machines.  My databases typically have
quite a bit of code stored in modules (actually, often just one big
module).  Consistently, when I either zip or gzip them to move from one
machine to another (via modem or diskette), then unzip them, any attempt
to save a module is met with an Access Violation, Dr. Watson, and the
demise of my access session.  The applications work fine for users, but
it is impossible to edit or re-save modules.

Compacting and Repairing the databases do no good.  However, Copying the
entire module to the clipboard, creating a new module, pasting the text
in, and deleting the original module works.  This seems a little odd to
me.  So:

1.) Has anyone else experienced these problems, or can anyone else
reproduce them?

2.) Does anyone know of a MS fix for them?

Many thanks
Andy Perrin

Andew,

I had the same problem on ACC97 and WIN 95...

I used the same fix. (Copy/paste)

Hi
Ditto this problem in Access 7.
I have found that this happens after an unexpected shutdown.
Also, If you use the cut and paste technique and copy it to a
temporary form name then both versions work from that point on.
The reason for the shutdown is somewhat inexplicable. I also
what like to know the cause of this and if there is any fix.
