 Misleading Date/Time Stamp on mdb

Relates to backing up and retrieving data using Access 2.0

Can anyone shed any light on this problem? When you save a file in most
applications, you can use the Date/Time stamp to quickly find the most
recent version of the file.

It appears in Access 2.0, however, that the date/time stamp gets updated
even if you just LOOK in an *.mdb file. This could lead to a serious
problem in that if you have a quick look at an old file, it would
suddenly appear on disk as the most up-to-date.

To get round this, I have written a huge app. that compares every object
in any two databases, but there must be an easier way?

Has anyone come across this, and is it the same in Access 7.0+

Thanks for any help - please mail as well as post.
